Foam elastomer floating and yacht fendering

Light-weight foam-elastomer vessel fendering by Hippo Marine

Using similar materials as for the floating fenders, Hippo Marine has introduced several fender profiles for workboats, yachts, ribs and tenders. This type of fenders offers great advantages compared to traditional fendering:

Hippo foam fenders offer a great weight reduction compared to rubber fenders
Hippo foam fenders won't leave markings, as opposed to rubber fenders
Hippo foam fenders cannot deflate unlike inflatable fenders typically used on ribs
Hippo foam fenders are available in colours matching the boat, making them very suitable for leasure boats, tenders, etc.

Hippo has a number of standard profiles available, but custom made dimensions are possible as well.

As far as production concerns, we basically have two options:

Moulded fenders
Sprayed fenders

The difference between the two is related to the way the Polyurethane skin is applied to the fender: either by casting using a mould, or by spraying the fenders (similar as with the foam-elastomer floating fenders and buoys).
