Foam elastomer floating and yacht fendering
Foam-elastomer floating fenders by Hippo MarineHippo Marine (100% subsidiary of the FenderCare group) is specialised in the manufacture and supply of foam-elastomer fenders. The fenders are made of closed cell polyethylene foam (in several densities) and are encapsulated in a strong, yet resilient, polyurethane skin. Depending on the thickness, the skin can be reinforced in different ways.
Due to the material properties of the foam, Hippo Marine fenders are virtually unsinkable. Very important is the excellent performance offered by foam fenders, resulting in a high energy absorbing capacity, while at the same time offering a low reaction force and minimal hull pressure. Due to their large nett buoyancy (around ten times their own weight), foam fenders will float and will always provide energy absorption right above the waterline of the vessel. Due to its buoyancy, foam fenders are very suitable for areas with large tidal ranges.
The performance characteristics of foam fenders, make it the ideal choice for vessel with a thin hull, like navy ships, ferries and cruise ships.
