Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

On this page you will find a number of answers to frequently raised questions about our company. In case you have questions, not answered in this section, please feel free to contact us.

Q: Is PCJ MA distributor or a trading house?
A: No, we are not. Although we do trade some products (mainly explosion proof torches/lanterns), we are working as agents only.

Q: Do you keep a stock position?
A: No, we do not keep anything in stock. First of all, most of the products in our portfolio are available from stock of our principals. Secondly, if we would keep a stock position, this automatically would result in an increase in prices.

Q: In case of an order, will PCJ MA invoice us?
A: No, we will not invoice you. The production, shipment and invoicing of the products you have ordered through us, will all be handled by the manufacturer. We are, however, the first line of contact between the customer and the manufacturer, and for all questions, enquiries and/or complaints, please feel free to contact us.

Q: Is your portfolio limited to what is mentioned on the website?
A: No, not at all. Most of the manufacturers we represent, are specialised in custom made products, so by definition, the description of our portfolio on this website is limited. Apart from that, we also have contacts with other manufacturers and in many cases we can suppy products that are not part of our standard portfolio. If not, we will try to support you in finding the solution. Of course, the possibilies we can offer are limited to products and services related to our core business.

Q: What is your core business?
A: P.C. Jansen Marine Agencies is specialised in supplying equipment to the marine industry. It involves equipment for lifting, rigging, mooring, shipbuilding and port construction, as well as navigational aids. In short, when there is wire rope, fibre rope or chain involved, it is part of our core business.
As far as port construction and navigation concerns, we basically can supply all equipment to guide a vessel from open sea into the port and to the right quay, make sure it will have a safe berth and will find it's way back to open sea. The same applies to fixed/floating structures at sea, e.g. rigs, FPSO's and wind farms.

Q: Do you have an in-house engineering department?
A: No, we don't. In most cases, our experience (over 30 years in the business) allows us to offer you the best solution for the job. For complex projects or products that do require additional engineering input, we are - of course - backed by our principals. All our principals do have excellent engineers available in-house, in order to make sure you will find the solution that best fits your requirements.
